Oakland Genesis

Working with Visual Outlet was an excellent experience from start to finish. Their team communicated clearly throughout the entire process, making everything feel organized, collaborative, and easy to navigate. What stood out most was their creativity and professionalism — they brought strong ideas to the table while also taking the time to understand our organization and mission.

As someone without a background in marketing or video production, I especially appreciated the confidence and expertise they demonstrated at every stage. They made complex decisions feel approachable and guided us through the process in a way that built trust and excitement around the project. The final product captured our work and community in a powerful and authentic way, and we’re excited about the long-term impact it can have for Oakland Genesis.

Matt FondyExecutive Director, Oakland Genesis

Case Study

Oakland Genesis wanted donors and funders to see what happens beyond the soccer field. The Academy uses the game as an entry point to year-round academic coaching and mentorship, and the story needed to make that sustained support clear while inviting viewers to support the program.

Brallan’s own account leads the film, with his coach and academic mentor adding perspective. Classroom and field scenes reveal how the Academy works in daily life. Together, they help supporters see the connection between belonging on a team and growing as a student.

Juma Ventures

It was a pleasure working with Visual Outlet. We appreciate their thoughtfulness in collecting and sharing our story. They were respectful when working with our young people and highly communicative throughout the project.

What stood out was their collaborative approach. From the initial storyboard meeting to the final edits, they kept us involved every step of the way. The team was professional, responsive, and a genuine joy to work with. We're thrilled with the final product.

Highly recommend!

Megan HoverChief Development Officer, Juma Ventures

Case Study

Juma wanted donors, board members, and corporate partners to understand how a first job can open a longer path for a young person. Tiffany’s progression into a leadership role gave that message a human center and a clear reason to support Juma’s youth workforce programs.

We followed Tiffany at work so viewers could see her leadership for themselves, then paired her perspective with her mother’s and supervisor’s. The story makes the growth behind a first job visible: new skills, confidence, and a sense of what might come next.

03

Legacy Youth Leadership

I had a great experience working with the Visual Outlet Team! They were very communicative, professional, and easy to work with! The finished video assets that they produced turned out great! :)

TJ EaglinDirector of Marketing, Legacy Youth Leadership

Case Study

Legacy Youth Leadership wanted donors and sponsors to see mentorship turning a student’s idea into action, and to encourage investment in more leadership opportunities. Leslie’s Mood Matters initiative made the value of that support tangible.

We built the film around Leslie’s perspective, with a mentor, an educator, and scenes in her school community showing the support behind her work. Rather than describing mentorship in the abstract, the story shows a young leader creating something of her own with guidance by her side.

04

FODAC

Working with Anthony and his team was a wonderful experience from start to finish. At FODAC, the stories we share belong to the families we serve, so it mattered deeply to us that whoever told this one would treat it with care. Anthony’s team did exactly that.

Before, during, and after filming, they went out of their way to put our client and his family at ease. They took time to listen, made the process feel comfortable rather than intimidating, and made sure everything was done in a way that felt true and respectful to the family. You could see that trust on camera.

The finished video is honest about the real challenges this family has faced, while also capturing the hope and joy that came from receiving support through FODAC. That balance is hard to strike, and they struck it beautifully. The care that went into shaping this story shows in every frame.

We’re grateful for their professionalism, their kindness, and their skill, and we’d recommend Anthony and his team without hesitation to any organization with a meaningful story to tell.

Laurie KimbrellDirector of Development, FODAC

Case Study

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children wanted donors and partners to understand what access to mobility equipment means when a family’s needs are not fully met by insurance. Arian and his family gave that mission a specific, deeply personal point of view, with an invitation to support more families like theirs.

We filmed in the family’s home and let Arian’s mother, Alondra, guide the account. Everyday routines, the equipment itself, and moments of joy with his family kept the story honest and respectful. FODAC shared the film at its 40th anniversary celebration with Arian and his family in attendance, bringing their experience directly to supporters.

The Boyce L. Ansley School

Recently my client, The Ansley School hired Visual Outlet for a flagship video project. Anthony and his team did an amazing job capturing the heart and essence of the school. Thanks for using care and professionalism to highlight Ansley's story.

RaQuita WeathersMarketing & Communications Manager, The Ansley School

Case Study

The Boyce L. Ansley School wanted current and prospective supporters to see how education, social services, and family support can work together over time. Tessa’s family story was intended to deepen donor understanding and encourage continued support for other students and families.

We centered Tessa’s voice and her family’s agency, with staff perspectives and scenes of the school adding context. Following the family beyond its years at Ansley gives supporters a fuller picture of its journey, honoring the family’s own work while making the school’s role tangible.

06

Children Rising

Children Rising hired Visual Outlet to produce a powerful video story. We told the story of Jordyn, a fourth grader in Oakland, and how the support of her tutor, her family, and the people around her — what we call a Circle of Care — helped her rebuild her confidence after a tough stretch of school instability.

From start to finish, Anthony Hudson’s team was extremely prepared, organized, and professional. They approached a sensitive, personal story with real care and talent, and the final video captures exactly what we hoped it would: the impact of consistent, loving support in a child's life. It brought Jordyn’s mother to tears when she first viewed it. That should tell you the impact we made!

Children Rising received tremendous value for the work Visual Outlet delivered. If you're looking for a video partner who can tell a genuine human story with skill and heart, we can't recommend Visual Outlet enough.

Eric SteckelCommunications Director, Children Rising

Case Study

Children Rising needed a story for donors and prospective supporters at its Giving Gatherings. Jordyn’s experience could show how tutoring, family partnership, and steady encouragement form a circle of care, then invite viewers to support that work.

We kept Jordyn and her mother at the center, using her relationship with a tutor to make that circle of care visible without reducing Jordyn to a challenge she faced. Children Rising shared the film in invitations and follow-up links for its home gatherings and on its website, letting supporters meet Jordyn before and after those conversations.

BEAM

Anthony Hudson and Visual Outlet were great to work with. They made the process clear, and we always knew where we were every step of the way. The video they shot and edited was beautiful, and they did a great job blending past footage with interviews and B-roll. The entire team was friendly and kind, and I truly enjoyed working with them.

Skye BarclayCreative Project Manager, BEAM

Case Study

The Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective wanted funders and community supporters to see how one event can become an ongoing source of connection and care. Billi’s journey, as a mother and Street Team member, offered a way to invite investment in BEAM’s broader community mental health work.

Billi’s own experience anchors the film, with a BEAM team voice connecting her story to the larger movement. Scenes from the present and earlier events trace a relationship that grew over time. Supporters can see community care as something sustained, rather than a single moment of help.

Veterans Village of San Diego

Exceptional Storytelling and Outstanding Quality! Anthony Hudson and his team at Visual Outlet are absolutely fantastic! They filmed a success story featuring one of our Veterans at Veterans Village of San Diego, and the result was an exceptional, high-impact video that beautifully captures his journey and the impact of our mission.

From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, and wonderful to work with. Their attention to detail and dedication to the project truly stood out. They took the time to meticulously edit multiple video segments to create a compelling, cohesive story that is both powerful and meaningful.

The quality of the final product exceeded our expectations and is exactly what our organization needed to showcase the lives we impact and the difference our work makes in the community.

We are incredibly grateful to Anthony and his team for their talent, generosity, and commitment to helping us tell this important story. If you're looking for a team that combines professionalism, creativity, and exceptional storytelling, I highly recommend Visual Outlet!

Karen MoyDevelopment & Communications Coordinator, Veterans Village of San Diego

Case Study

Veterans Village of San Diego wanted donors and community partners to see the person behind its recovery services and the value of support beyond housing alone. Tommy’s story could broaden understanding of the mission and encourage people to stand behind it.

We followed Tommy on campus and out on the water with Challenged Sailors, a community partner, then added the perspectives of staff who knew his journey. Seeing him in both settings gives recovery a fuller shape, showing the connection and confidence that can grow alongside practical support.

Everyone On

When Anthony reached out to capture Everyone On's story, I had no expectations for the experience would go. I was blown away by his, and his team's, attention to detail, storytelling abilities, and leadership in creating what was our first Bay Area video. I recommend working with VO if you're looking for a professional, sophisticated, on point video team. I hope to do so again as well!

Jessica ScadronVP of Strategic Partnerships & Communications, Everyone On

Case Study

Everyone On wanted funders, donors, and partners to understand digital inclusion through one person’s experience. Larry’s growing confidence with technology made the case for supporting access to devices, affordable internet, and digital skills training.

We filmed Larry in a community training setting and included the instructor and partner relationships around him. Instead of explaining the digital divide only in numbers, the film shows how learning a practical skill can create confidence, independence, and connection.

Stepping Forward LA

We had a great experience with Anthony and the team. They were clear on what they needed from us and communicated with us throughout the process. The end results says it all. They captured the story and who we are and the work that we do.

You will not regret working with them. We look forward to working with them again.

Beth RyanExecutive Director, Stepping Forward LA

I would 100% recommend their services. They arrived on time and were so welcoming and kind. They set up in a timely manner and had such a fun energy overall. They were also extremely adaptable to the space we provided for filming. The end result was beautiful and portrayed the exact vision we were going for.

Jasmine JordanProgram Coordinator, Stepping Forward LA

This was my first experience working with a production team and without a doubt was one of the best experiences ever. From beginning to the end the process was very smooth. They are great at communication and very patient. I highly recommend this team and their services not just for their great energy, but the masterpiece they put together for our team as well!

Alberto GarciaSocial Media and Marketing Coordinator, Stepping Forward LA

Case Study

Stepping Forward LA wanted supporters to understand what consistent relationships can mean for young people with foster care experience, and to invite both donations and volunteer mentors. Jasmine, who moved from participant to staff member, could tell that story with agency and a view toward the future.

Jasmine speaks for herself in the film, while candid moments with Alberto reveal the ease and trust in their relationship. Those choices keep the focus on who she is now and what steady support can make possible, giving prospective mentors a human reason to get involved.

Uniting Hope

The entire process working with the Visual Outlet group was professional and clear. I really appreciated the intentionality and creativity they brought to our story telling video project. very pleased!

Brian BurchikDirector of Development, Uniting Hope

Case Study

Uniting Hope wanted church communities and donors to see that supporting foster families can take more than one form. Cheryl and Mark Bushway’s experience made respite care concrete and offered prospective families a less intimidating way to consider getting involved.

We built the film around the Bushways’ own account and scenes of connection in their church community, with staff voices adding context about foster care. Their story helps prospective supporters picture respite care as a meaningful, approachable way to stand with foster families.

The Carpentries

The Carpentries worked with Visual Outlet to create impact stories that will support our fundraising efforts. From the start, I felt a great sense of trust working with Anthony and his team. We get a lot of ‘cold calls,’ but for some reason their outreach felt different. They were extremely patient with us as we dealt with several delays on our end. I really appreciate their approach in developing the story and capturing footage. The finished product is PHENOMENAL. There's no way our team could've produced this kind of video and imagery on our own. Highly recommend.

Kari JordanThe Carpentries

Case Study

The Carpentries wanted researchers, educators, and former community members to see what can grow from a welcoming data skills workshop. Lyrric’s journey from participant to certified instructor could invite viewers to attend, teach, mentor, or host a workshop.

We built the story around Lyrric’s voice and the community that helped her grow, pairing learning and teaching scenes with her creative life in dance. That mix keeps a technical mission personal and welcoming, helping viewers imagine themselves as learners, instructors, and part of the community.

Propel ATL

We had an amazing experience working with Visual Outlet on a storytelling project. They interviewed people we've worked with for testimonials to share at our annual fundraiser, the Blinkie Awards. The video turned out beautifully visually and incredibly emotionally compelling.

It's rare to work with people who are so good at what they do and also so kind and professional from start to finish.

Truly can't say enough good things about the Visual Outlet team!

Bay Area Creative

Working with Visual Outlet was an amazing experience. They exist at the intersection of professionalism, talent, and care. It was amazing to see our story captured through the lens of creatives who got to know our organization and felt like part of the team for a short time.

Our organization puts teaching artists in schools, and through strategy and coordination we were able to complete a one-day film shoot. The Visual Outlet team was well coordinated, and through careful planning we were able to shoot several interviews with a teaching artist and capture parts of a show.

All parts of scheduling, working, and delivery of media went flawlessly. This was not only an amazing team to work with, but also a model to study on how to build partnerships in the community. We look forward to working with Visual Outlet again in the future!
